Neev Fund is a private equity investor. We take influential minority positions in equity forms in SMEs that have provable revenue streams and seek catalytic and growth capital to expand their businesses in near term. Our capital is catalytic in nature and attracts likeminded growth capital investors leading to rapid expansion of these SMEs.
Investment objective
Our objective is to invest in SMEs with a focus on sectors that have a positive impact on climate change. Neev aims to be the investor which will usher in cutting edge value addition and impact amplification to these SMEs.
With a focus on incorporating environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) and impact maximisation factors early on into investment decisions thus helping reduce risks to workers, environment, communities and other stakeholders. We work diligently on integrating the ESG principles of the Fund through the portfolio entities and their value chain. Neev Fund is addressing India’s two major vulnerabilities:
Improving Livelihoods, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals as well as Mitigating and adapting to Climate Change, helping India achieve its Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement.
Selection criteria
We focus on growth stage SMEs with a positive climate and social impact angle. We invest in companies which are market leaders or have the potential to become market leaders and operate in sectors with favourable government policies and high growth potential.
We focus on emerging and innovative companies that create product or process innovation leading to large scale social impact and sustainability. We will invest in companies with a proven, motivated, incentivized and most importantly, ethical management team. We also look for technology or research and development (R&D) focused companies with a unique or niche technology in the process or product.
